Serum Anti-Mullerian Hormone, Serum Follicle Stimulating Hormone and Serum Estradiol in the Prediction of Ovarian Reserve: A Comparative Study
نویسنده
چکیده
Objective: Our study was undertaken to find if any correlation exists between levels of Anti-Mullerian (AMH), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and estradiol (E2), with the ovarian reserve. Methods: A Randomized, prospective study was conducted at Infertility Clinic,Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Hospital,Jaipur on 105 patients aged 25-40 years undergoing in-vitro fertilization (IVF)/ intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) cycle from from May-Dec2010. Serum levels of hormones were determined at day 3 and ovarian follicle response was assessed on day of administration of hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin). The results were analyzed using proportions, standard deviation and chi-square test. Results: Results revealed that Serum AMH was significantly correlated (r 0.302, p<0.001) with higher follicular response while FSH (r 0.0283, p>0.1) and E2 (r 0.999, p>0.1) were not found to have any such association with ovarian reserve in the study.

Evaluation of Ovarian Reserve by Measurement of the Serum Levels of Anti-Mullerian Hormone and Follicle-Stimulating Hormone in Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection Cycles
Background It is important to evaluate ovarian reserves prior to intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) treatment. The aim of this study is to determine the accuracy of anti-mullerian hormone (AMH) as a marker for ovarian reserve and to compare it with day-3 serum follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) levels. MaterialsAndMethods In this analytic, corss-sectional study, sequential sampling was don...

Background: Anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) has been suggested as a marker of ovarian reserve and predictor of ovarian response to controlled ovarian hyper stimulation. The aim of this study is to determine the role of AMH in prediction of success ART cycles in patients with normal FSH serum levels. Materials and Methods: This prospective cohort study included 80 infertile women under 4o years, wh...
متن کاملAge-Specific Serum Anti-Mullerian Hormone and Follicle Stimulating Hormone Concentrations in Infertile Iranian Women
Background Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) is secreted by the granulosa cells of growing follicles during the primary to large antral follicle stages. Abnormal levels of AMH and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) may indicate a woman’s diminished ability or inability to conceive. Our aim is to investigate the changes in serum AMH and FSH concentrations at different age groups and its correlation w...
متن کاملFollicle Stimulating Hormone and Anti-Mullerian Hormone Among Fertile and Infertile Women in Ile-ife, Nigeria: is There a Difference?
Background Reduced ovarian reserve has been known to predict poor ovarian response and poor success rates in infertile women undergoing assisted reproductive technology. Ovarian reserve also decreases with age but the rate of decline defers from a woman to another. The aim of this study was to detect any difference in ovarian reserve as measured by basal serum FSH and AMH between matched cohort...

Background The impact of cancer therapy on the reproductive potential of patients is increasingly recognized because survival rates of patients have clearly improved in recent years. The study stressed the use of AMH may allow better prediction of chemotherapy-related risk to further fertility.
